Our ProgrammeTe Whäriki is used as the foundation for our learning environment. The programme framework emphasises the learning partnership between teachers, parents and whanau. Teachers create curriculum in response to the child's learning and development in the early childhood setting and the wider child's world. Through this program, it is our goal to help children prepare for future learning environments.
What we offer

Infants and ToddlersWe give our littlest learners the time and space to explore and learn at their own pace. Toddlers are learning to explore the world around them. Their bodies are developing, along with their emerging personalities. They need to be challenged physically and socially in an environment that is loving, nurturing and safe. Our programmes for toddlers are built on a philosophy of ‘play and learn with a purpose’. A variety of activities are planned for each day, such as dressing up, painting, working with play dough, building blocks and so on. Children are given an individual programme to ensure they are encouraged to achieve various milestones. Our facility is bright, spacious and open planned with plenty of exciting equipment and resources to keep lively toddlers captivated.

Transition to School Programme The TSP programme introduces more structured group experiences and targeted skill-building to support school readiness. It includes encouraging children to speak in front of a group, listen, and take turns. It includes learning about days of the week, weather, calendar concepts. Also phonics, story time, number recognition, simple addition/subtraction using visual aids, patterns, memory games and problem solving. We encourage independence and self-management and emotional regulation. The concepts of routines that will occur in school are introduced, eg lining up, using a lunch box, and sitting for longer periods.
